Permission Granted is the artist name under which I explore topics such as modern life, technology, burnout, optimism, friendship and the small moments that make us human, and wrap them up in an easy to digest sugar-coating of music!I write the lyrics, concepts and creative direction behind every song. The music itself is created using AI-assisted tools, allowing me to bring ideas to life that I could never have realised alone.Contrary to popular belief (contrary to MY belief before starting this venture!) this does not involve typing a sentence into a computer and immediately receiving a masterpiece.For example, my attempt to create a simple 15-second timelapse for this website somehow escalated into several days of discussions about solar trajectories, window geometry, lunar behaviour, disappearing workspaces, imaginary FFmpeg pipelines and whether a notebook had moved by a few pixels.The video eventually worked.... Mostly!The process was considerably more complicated than the results would suggest, but that seems to be true of most creative endeavours."Permission Granted?" is not an attempt to hide the use of AI. Quite the opposite. It's an exploration of what happens when human experiences, values and stories meet new creative tools.If these songs help somebody feel seen, understood, hopeful, or simply a little less alone, then they've done their job.
